Keto-Friendly Patio Drinks

DLB's Go-to Keto Cocktails and Coffees

Summer…a time for laughter and pool parties with your friends. But it’s also one of the hardest times to avoid unhealthy temptation of junk food and sugary drinks. This doesn’t just mean alcohol either. Tis the season of ice cappuccinos and Starbucks fruity instagrammable drinks too! I don’t know about you, but one of my favourite things to do in Summer is sit and have Caesars by the pool… so being ‘mostly’ faithful to my Keto diet, I had to find some alternatives to my regular summer day drinking regime. Surprisingly there are some pretty delicious options! Here are my favourite low carb beverages for the Summer:

Kailee's Keto Cocktail

Ingredients

Total carb count: 1g per 250 ml of tea David’s tea
Summer drinks at Starbucks are always really high on the sugar side, so a great alternative if you’re craving something cool and sweet is David’s Teas (iced). This cocktail can be made with a million different David’s Tea flavours, from melonade to sparkling sangria etc. Just steep like a regular tea for about 10-20 mins (the longer the better) then serve with Ice. So sweet, with none of the sugar!

In Canada we drink Caesars and the key ingredient is the delicious Clamato juice. Unfortunately Clamato is pretty high is sugary carbs. The keto version is more of a bloody mary and although it still has some carbs, it’s a lower alternative if you are watching your macros strictly.
Carb count: 6g per glass

Ingredients

Gin and Sodas

Carb count: 0g
Although I ‘try’ to eat as healthy as I can, I’m a bit of a ‘Ra Ra party girl’… I enjoy going out for drinks and dancing on the weekend, so luckily although it’s not really encouraged, Drinking Gin and Sodas is super low carb and thus still follows Keto.

Pre-made Sangria mixes may be loaded with sugar, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make your own to enjoy! Low carb sangria mixes are simple and delicious. Try this simple Raspberry Red Sangria:

Coffees and Drinks on the Go

My Go to Coffee orders are as follows if you want  to keep it sugar-free- low carb:

Mcdonalds Sugar Free Vanilla Iced Coffee

This is probably my favourite thing to drink in the summer! It’s dollar drink days and it taste soooo good. You can also ask for a regular coffee with the SF vanilla shot too!

Starbucks Frappuccino (variation)

Although the base of the frappuccino has a bit of sugar, you can request a frap at Starbucks and substitute with coconut milk or heavy cream and opt for either the sugar free dolce cinnamon shot or the vanilla shot. You can also do this with Ice Coffees as well!

Starbucks Keto Pink Drink

I have yet to try this one but have been hearing about it everywhere, so here it is:
Carb count: 3g for a grande

There you have it folks, A guide to enjoying drinks and keepin it Keto. What are your favourite summer drinks? Got any Keto Cocktails up your sleeves, I’d love to hear about it!?
